Now THAT is a power tool

Yesterday the workers came to remove the tile floor from my kitchen.
They couldn't do it Monday because they needed a special tool to break up the stubborn tile.

Turns out that while most of the work done in the 1989 remodel was pretty slipshod, the tiles were the one thing that was built to withstand a bomb.

So they came in yesterday morning with this tool that looked fairly scary and sounded even more frightening.

It was like they took a jackhammer to my kitchen floor.

Anyway, now the floor is gone.

It is 10:40 a.m. and there is no sign of the crew yet.
I forgot to ask them yesterday what the plan was for today, so I have no idea if they are even planning to work this morning.

Again, they did a great job cleaning up before they left yesterday.

George couldn't help himself and had to go inspect the work.
He is a nosy little bastard.

Aw - what a sweetie! I hope the power is off in that room - we don't need to zap any kitties!

He is not allowed in there unsupervised.
When I leave for the day, he gets locked in another room.
Which he absolutely hates.

Is it just me, or does George look like he's lost a little weight?

Oh, we have had occassions to lock our kitties up (we have just one now, though).

Yes, they hate it. Mine learned to put their little paws under the door and pull, causing the door to bang repeatedly. Very annoying!

Jim,
No. No weight loss. He is still a giant load.

Sona,
George is pretty dexterous. If he is outside a room that has a Euro-style handle instead of a knob, he has figured out how to stand up and pull down on the knob to open the door. Not to tough, since the doors swing into the rooms.
He also figured out how to do that with the door into the garage, which swings out. He stands, pulls down on the knob until the catch releases a little, then pulls at the bottom of the door to open it.
It really freaked me out one day to find him in the garage, sitting on my car.
